The Bowen Technique

A gentle, effective, holistic therapy, where the practitioner uses their fingers and thumbs to roll over muscle and soft tissue, creating a disturbance in the energy. During the treatment, the practitioner will break and let the client relax, giving the treatment time to work.

The treatment was pioneered in Australia by Tom Bowen. It is safe for all ages and can be performed through light clothing. The Bowen Technique has helped people with back pain, shoulder pain, respiratory problems, migraine, frozen shoulder, injuries after accidents and much more.

Hopi Ear Candles

Ear candling was used by the Hopi People. The candles, made from pure cotton, bees wax, honey, sage, St. John's Wort and camomile, are lighted and inserted into the external ear canal, where the movement of the flame and light suction creates a vibration of air in the candle, generating a massage effect on the ear drum.

Ear candling has been known to help with swimmer's ear, excess wax, sinusitis, etc.

This treatment is not recommended for people with perforated ear drums or with grommits.

Indian Head Massage

Ayurveda is probably the oldest recorded medical system. Indian Head Massage is part of this system used extensively in Asia to combat stress and tensions.

Often in times of stress, anxiety or tension, headaches develop from muscular tension, which may be relieved by Indian Head Massage.

Reflexology

A pleasant treatment, usually to the feet. All the organs of the body are mirrored in the feet. Reflexologists work the reflexes with their fingers and thumbs, which may clear blockages in the reflex zones of the body, which may help certain health conditions.

Reflexology has been practiced for thousands of years but was only brought to Europe in the 1930s by Eunice Ingham.

Reiki

From the Japanese word meaning 'universal life force', Reiki was rediscovered at the end of the 19th century by Dr. Mikeo Usui.

The treatment is soothing and calming, leaving the body feeling deeply relaxed. Reiki healing is suitable for almost everyone and can help people cope with a variety of conditions. Reiki works alongside most other treatments.

Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT)

EFT takes its origins from acupuncture, acupressure and kinesiology and was developed in America. The process involves tapping on the meridians, whilst saying a positive affirmation, and using the crossing of the mid-line of the body.

EFT is used for stress, phobias, compulsive behaviour, addictions, pain and emotions such as grief and bad memories. The client can be taught to use the techniques themselves, whenever the need arises.

Canine Bowen Technique

What is it?

It is a gentle, non-invasive, hands on technique, used to promote the body's healing process.

The Treatment

The therapist, who is qualified in Human Bowen, uses fingers and thumbs to apply gentle pressure in a series of moves across muscles, tendons and soft tissue. Bowen treats the body as a whole, helping it to restore itself by realigning and rebalancing. Bowen treatment is carried out at the dog's own pace and in your own home.

Before Treatment

A Veterinary referral will be required before Bowen treatment can begin. Contact us for the appropriate form and further information.
